Admin Drag and Drop ideas

These are suggestions based on how my sites are set up and how I do things. Basically, ways to make things easier for me. :)

A quick visual way to see what the "view level" of a page. Publicly Visible/Logged In/Admin Only are the 3 I'd be interested in having at a quick glance. My quick thoughts on a type of display would be a outline around the text, green, none/black, and red. My site is mostly logged in pages, so that's why I suggested a border around the public pages, but it kinda makes more sense to border the pages requiring authentication.

Another setting displayed that would be nice for me, would be to see if a page isn't displayed in in the menu. A quick thought on the display for this is a different folder icon.

Other than being greedy and wanting more information, hehe, I like the module.
Playing around with the drag and drop I noticed (and find it very nice) that the little arrow flips between being on the folder, indicating the same level, and being on the name, indicating to go as a sub page. Took me a few minutes playing around to figure out it did that. :)

Re: Admin Drag and Drop ideas

I noticed a small thing - If I drop on the Root node so it goes to the same level of the root it will move in the tree and appear as if it's on the same level as the root node. So if I collapse the root, the moved page still shows. If I then refresh the page, it moves back to it's original location. This is something a little glitchy, since I may have meant to put it as a root menu item, and missed (arrow on folder not on Root) and didn't notice then it will have not been moved with no indication of this. If there could be an

Thank you for this information. Yes, it is possible to place page at the same level as ROOT (but it has no sense). We will fix this issue asap. Thank you again for all your help!

Re: Admin Drag and Drop ideas

OK - not trying to overload the UI with information, but I figure, if I put all my quick glance desired information up ASAP, then you guys can work them all in together and not trying to patch them in and make them work later on. :)

Going through other pages and checking some stuff, I noticed secure and disabled as Settings that are probably going to be relevant when creating new pages when they will pick up the same permission settings.

Re: Admin Drag and Drop ideas

Sorry for nto being clearer. I'm good at that. :) - It's not a problem or anything - it is a further UI improvment I'd find useful. Having the SSL setting and is the menu is disabled or not visible at a glance, with out have to check the settings on the page.

Re: Admin Drag and Drop ideas

Being an impatient one, I was wondering if there is an update on when the new features might be implemented and released to use.

Many thanks

Re: Admin Drag and Drop ideas

Thank you for your interest. We are working with PagesAdministration to make it better. There were 2 patches, new online help manual and submit for DotNetNuke Review the program (still waiting for it). BTW: looks like DNN community is unhappy with Review the program: very slow, no response, etc :(
